#102: Clap For Babies

July 27, 2016

First episode recorded at our new home in Saranac Lake, NY. My dad has turned a corner in his life so I play a little audio from him. I show you examples of how much of an asshole I am compared to my wife, and I show with stand up clips what the main factor was for moving away from Los Angeles. Listener Dan sent me a hilarious e mail that I read. I show an example of the internet being great with an interaction I had with a very accusatory woman on Instagram. I'm at Parlor Live in Seattle this weekend, Fort Worth Texas Hyenas weekend after, and Syracuse Funnybone first weekend in September. Thanks for all your kind words and high fives on social media. E mail me at whydidnttheylaugh@gmail.com subscribe/comment/rate the podcast new "Milk Zombie" bibs available at hugepianist.com for twenty bucks. They make a great gift for newborns that look hilarious when they drool milk on themselves. All proceeds go to paying for food to keep my wife's boobs full of healthy milk!

This week John joins me to go over his jokes. We disagree on a lot of things but drank beers til close at Hollywood improv. So disagreements can be the building blocks of friendship. This was recorded at the Hollywood improv right before me and the family moved to Saranac Lake NY! Enjoy!

#100: Lions and Bananas with Matt Iseman

I read an awesome listener letter than spawns some solid solo conversation with myself. Play a clip I've been working on about having empathy for the youth.

I get to interview a long time friend, comedian, and great guy Matt Iseman who hosts "American Ninja Warrior" and talks about how and why he left the medical field.

I also review a book I just finished called TRUST ME, I'M LYING TO YOU by Ryan Holiday.

In this episode I closely analyze one line about why people should stay in monogamous relationships. I analyze why a joke about gay pride backfires as well as a crowd clip showing why I love New York. I recommend the book "The Obstacle is the Way" by Ryan Holiday as well as talk about exactly why my wife and I have decided to move to Saranac Lake, NY.

#98: A Flash of Brilliance with Clayton Thomas

July 1, 2016

I got to sit down with hilarious comedian Clayton Thomas. I met him back in the day on the set of “Sullivan and Son” and did Alonzo Bodden’s podcast with him a few months ago. He’s been on Arsenio, Comic View, BET, Jamie Foxx’s radio show, worked with Kevin Hart and Mike Epps and hails from Detroit. This was one of those interviews that I was pumped about because he’s funny but by the end it was an all out bro fest. Once we started talking about “The Flash” I realized I would die for him if it came to it. email me whydidnttheylaugh@gmail.com hugepianist.com for tour dates. Lots coming up @owenbenjamin on twitter if you wanna share the show subscribe, rate, comment on iTunes. it helps us for more info on Clayton here’s his website http://www.iamclaytonthomas.com/ hit him up on twitter we love hearing from people that think we are cool.
